This collection consists of letters written by Daniel Henry Holmes, Jr., from New Orleans, La., to his eldest daughter Rachel, as well as to his daughters collectively. The letters are dated from Feb. 24, 1901 through Apr. 17, 1904. He reports family news, and writes of his plans to travel, with his wife, to see them in Europe. The letters were hand-penned on stationery including letterhead of the D. H. Holmes store, 155 Canal Street, New Orleans, as well as letterhead of the New St. Charles Hotel.
